    Typical Schedule:
    Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    SUMMARY 
    Overview:  Under the direction of the Trust and Financial Center Manager, responsible for preparing and processing trust documentation necessary for trust operations, performs various secretarial, clerical and administrative duties according to established procedures.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Performs all tasks related to Trust Department account record keeping, including income and expense processing, customer disbursements, corporate bond activity, assist with management of short term cash investments, maintenance of tickler system and reporting for trust accounts, as outlined in trust agreements.  Tasks will include compiling, processing and balancing information in compliance with department guidelines.

    As required, buys/sells stocks, bonds, government issues, etc., and documents such transactions.

    Ensures that all quarterly, semiannual and annual activities are accurately completed, including charging of appropriate trust fees, preparation of information for tax returns and regulatory reports.

    Works with Trust and Financial Center Manager to ensure that the activities of the Trust Department are effective and efficient while providing courteous service.

    Receives and answers telephone, mail and/or personal inquiries from current and potential customers regarding the Financial Center’s products and services.

    Prepares a variety of correspondence, checks, forms and reports.

    Maintains Financial Center filing system, including opening new files, closing files, filing information as received and record retention.

    Assists in the preparation of reports for the Board of Directors and Trust Committee meetings.

    Works with Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), including Trust Department self-directed IRAs and Bank IRA CDs.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus additional bank related training; or two to three years trust or secretarial experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS 
    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 
    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY 
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES 
    Must have ability to operate PC, printer, copy and fax.  Must have good working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software programs.  Basic PC knowledge.

    Has frequent contact with current and potential Trust Department customers.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 
    Valid driver’s license.

    Ability to be bonded by Bank’s surety company.

    COMMENTS 
    Position may require occasional overnight travel to attend various training sessions.  

    Position requires the ability to work before or after normal business hours to attend various meetings and meet with clients.

    Position may require occasional travel to various locations for job related business.
