Freeman Health System's Gift Gallery in Neosho Reopens After Three-Year Hiatus
Freeman Health System celebrated the grand reopening of its Gift Gallery at Freeman Neosho Hospital, marking a significant milestone after its closure in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Freeman Health System President and Chief Executive Officer Paula Baker expressed her excitement, stating, "Today is a joyful day for everyone involved. The Freeman Gift Gallery is back and better than ever."
During the pandemic, the Freeman Gift Gallery was temporarily converted into a negative pressure room to care for COVID-19 patients, making its reopening even more momentous.
Baker praised the efforts of the Freeman Auxiliary and the dedicated Freeman volunteers, noting, "The tireless work of our volunteers is essential. Proceeds from the Freeman Gift Gallery support many of our community partners, including area nursing schools, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States, and numerous others."
The impact of the Freeman Gift Gallery extends far beyond its walls. Proceeds also support the Bill & Virginia Leffen Center for Autism, Cornell-Beshore Cancer Institute, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and Ozark Center Turnaround Ranch, among others. Last year, Freeman Auxiliary, staffed entirely by volunteers, contributed over $100,000 to projects that benefit both Freeman patients and the wider community.
"Day in and day out, Freeman Auxiliary and Freeman volunteers make a difference in the lives of countless individuals and families across our region," Baker added. "With the reopening of the Freeman Gift Gallery in Neosho, we expect to have an even greater impact."
