(NEOSHO, Mo. – October 14, 2024) – In recognition of American Pharmacists Month, Mitchell’s Drug Stores is hosting a public event on Thursday, October 17 to celebrate the vital role pharmacists play in keeping communities healthy. The event will feature free blood pressure and glucose screenings, vaccinations, and a special visit from Congressman Eric Burlison.
 
Congressman Burlison will receive a tour of the pharmacy and health and wellness clinic, followed by a conversation with the owner of Mitchell’s Drug Stores, Tim Mitchell, and other independent pharmacy owners to discuss the pharmacy profession and its future from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
 
“This American Pharmacists Month Mitchell’s Drug Stores is honored to recognize the many ways pharmacists across the nation, and locally in Missouri, serve their communities by providing vital health services,” says Mitchell. “This event is an opportunity for the Neosho community to access free health services, learn more about the work pharmacies do to promote wellness and hear from their district representative.”
 
Pharmacists, nurse practitioners and community health workers will perform free blood pressure and blood glucose screenings from 9 a.m. to noon. Free vaccinations for flu, pneumonia, RSV, Shingles, tetanus, and COVID-19 will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
