Pharmacy Technician – Mitchell’s Drug Stores
Location: Neosho, MO
Mitchell’s Drug Stores is seeking a motivated and professional Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior pharmacy experience, certification, and familiarity with retail and long-term care pharmacy services. This position requires a mature, dependable individual who can work effectively under the guidance of the Pharmacist-in-Charge, ensuring high-quality service and maintaining strong relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and our pharmacy team.Key Responsibilities
General Duties
- Assist patients with prescription drop-offs and pickups.
- Accurately enter prescription orders into the system.
- Update patient health and insurance information in our database.
- Support pharmacists with prescription preparation, labeling, and dispensing.
- Help with inventory management and putting away stock.
- Answer phone calls and maintain clear communication with LTC facilities, doctors, and patients.
- Provide assistance to fellow pharmacy technicians.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
Specific Long-Term Care Responsibilities
- Stage and prepare LTC medication deliveries.
- Package medications into unit dose packaging for LTC facilities.
- Order supplies and medications for LTC facilities as needed.
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
- Missouri Board of Pharmacy technician license.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Professional and courteous demeanor with excellent customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and dosage calculations.
- Ability to comply with safety protocols and use personal protective equipment.
