Qualifications / Skills / Education
- 21 years of age or older
- Three years of restaurant management or service
- Leadership skills to garner respect, mentor and develop relationships with staff
- Customer service and interpersonal skills to create positive relationships with guests
- Organized, detail oriented, with problem-solving skills
- Possess a thorough understanding of restaurant point-of-sale systems, preferably Toast
- Experience creating work schedules; preferably in Sling
- Experience managing food cost and inventory
- Ability to craft unique dining and drink experiences for our guests
- Ability to juggle a variety of responsibilities, stay calm under pressure, and delegate as needed
- Tech savvy with working knowledge in Google, Microsoft Office, Facebook, Instagram and other online platforms
- Financial knowledge to interpret sales and associated costs
- Possess a thorough understanding of Missouri Alcohol Control Laws and be Alcohol Server (SMART) Certified
- Carry food safety certifications as required by Newton County Missouri
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train, supervise and terminate employees – supported by HR
- Prepare proper documentation for employee issues and disciplinary actions
- Review, change and approve employee timecards for payroll
- Create and manage of employee work schedules to ensure shifts have proper coverage
- Perform all duties and responsibilities of subordinates both front of house and back of house
- Enforce food handling regulations and other guidelines to increase guest safety
- Streamline restaurant processes and checklists to improve both the guest experience and business profitability
- Respond as requested for any emergency equipment failure or delivery issues
- Ensure all guests are greeted and made to feel welcome and appreciated as well as handle complaints
- Support point-of-sale system issues and update as needed for pricing and other changes
- Stay up to date on restaurant trends and implement as they fit Eastside
- Coordinate and execute events in the restaurant
- Direct and oversee restaurant decoration for events & holidays
- Ensure that all equipment has proper preventative maintenance, is working safely, and is compliant with food service regulations and laws
- Perform daily inspection of restaurant grounds inside/outside and direct cleanup or maintenance as needed
- Other duties, responsibilities, or incidental tasks as required
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Work in heat up to 100 degrees F; and coolers/freezers down to 40 degrees F
- Work on feet majority of time
- Work in a fast-paced environment
- Reaching overhead to place or pull items down
- Pushing and pulling handcarts
- Repetitive motions of bending, kneeling, stooping, twisting
- Ability to clean at floor level
Benefits & Compensation
Competitively salaried position; 45 - 50+ hours per week with expectation that Assistant Manager is in the restaurant during peak hours, and opens two days of the week.
