The Neosho School District is searching for a School Police Officer. The School Police Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and school facilities by maintaining a secure environment and addressing safety concerns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Monitor and analyze activities that may violate school policies or indicate criminal activity, providing documentation and recommendations for action.
- Conduct regular patrols of school buildings, grounds, and surrounding areas to maintain a secure environment.
- Assist administrators in researching incidents, investigating law violations, and maintaining records for compliance and reference.
- Inform students, staff, and visitors about safety policies and enforcement procedures, ensuring understanding and awareness of consequences for violations.
- Work with school personnel, law enforcement, parents, and others to address criminal activities, vandalism, or security concerns.
- Intervene in conflicts and emergencies to minimize disruptions and prevent injuries.
- Supervise student behavior during school hours, extracurricular activities, and events to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
- Prepare reports and maintain records on incidents, inquiries, and enforcement actions.
- Refer incidents to appropriate personnel or agencies and ensure follow-up as per safety guidelines.
- Address various safety and security issues promptly to resolve immediate concerns.
- Maintain patrol vehicles and personal equipment, ensuring functionality, cleanliness, and adherence to standards.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the safety and security of the school community.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
High School Graduate or equivalent
Complete School Protection Officer Training Program
Must pass a background check through the MO Highway Patrol
