    The Network Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the district’s network infrastructure, ensuring reliable and secure access to technology resources for students, teachers, and staff. This role involves configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network systems, implementing cybersecurity measures, and providing technical support. The Network Administrator will collaborate with IT staff, educators, and administrators to enhance the district’s technological capabilities while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design, install, configure, and maintain the district’s network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless, firewalls, and internet connectivity.
    • Monitor network performance, security, and availability. Troubleshooting issues as they arise.
    • Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls, to protect sensitive student and administrative data.
    • Manage network hardware, including switches, routers, firewall, access points, and content filter.
    • Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configuration, procedures and inventory.
    • Conduct regular assessments and upgrades to optimize network performance and security.
    • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external service providers for network-related needs.
    • Assist with general IT support tasks, special projects, and initiatives as assigned by the Director of Technology.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration.
    • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
    • Experience with network security tools, firewall management, and cybersecurity best practices.
    • Proficiency in managing enterprise-grade network equipment.
    • Familiarity with cloud-based solutions and virtualization technologies.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, Google) are preferred.

    Work Environment:

    • Work shift Monday - Friday 7:30-4:30.
    • Office and school-based settings with occasional travel to different schools within the district.
    • Consistent and regular attendance required.
    • May require evening or weekend work for system upgrades, maintenance, or emergency troubleshooting.

    Physical Demands 

    • This job requires the ability to lift at least 50 lbs, climb ladders and work in close spaces.
