Crowder College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Housing Coordinator to join our team. This role is crucial in building and maintaining programs that enhance the student experience and develop future leaders through campus life experiences.
The Housing Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Campus Life Director and staff to foster a positive living and learning environment aligned with the institution’s mission, vision, and values. Success in this role is reflected in students' health and safety, well-planned and attended events, and students' academic and social success. The Housing Coordinator will have the ability to volunteer across campus athletics to build continuity between Campus Life and Housing and the Athletics Department.
This position is required to live on-campus and manage weekend, evening, overnight, and holiday duties shared with the Campus Life staff. When the Housing Coordinator is winning, students are healthy and safe, events are well planned, organized and attended, and students are academically and socially successful.
Essential Job Duties
Fosters student development and provides educational opportunities through student activities, intramurals, leadership opportunities, and student development.
Assist and respond to emergencies and incidents in the residence halls, ensuring student safety and well-being.
Communicate and maintain proper residence hall policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and fair living environment.
Promote a safe and secure environment through awareness and safety programs, educating students on best practices.
Assist with written incident documentation, maintenance/custodial requests, and addressing policy infractions promptly and effectively.
Assist with Resident Assistant (RA) hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation. Foster responsibility and servant leadership among RAs and student leaders.
Participate in residential and campus life professional development activities, including reading, attending courses, and training as required by the Director and/or Associate Vice President of Student Affairs.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Associate Vice President of Student Affairs to support the overall mission of the College and Campus Life Department.
Proven ability to effectively communicate in written and oral form, follow procedures and instructions, and interact with students effectively.
Understanding of and commitment to the community college philosophy and mission.
Must be able to comply with all terms of the “Employee Housing Agreement”
Equipment/Software Abilities
Ability to operate a computer within the Crowder College Network environment using the currently available Microsoft Windows operating system.
Ability to perform basic functions in Maxient conduct software.
Ability to use email and associated calendaring/scheduling applications.
Ability to perform basic functions using the Microsoft Office Suite and other associated programs

Working Environment
Varies depending on events. Although generally indoors, there can be exposure to temperature changes, noise, dust and chemicals.
Position works a year around schedule with responsibilities through times when students are on campus. Schedule must be flexible to the requirements of a residential setting and will require weekend and/or evening hours. Emergency on-call rotation is part of this position. Weekends, evening hours and rotations are developed in conjunction with the campus life assistants.
A neat appearance and appropriate businesslike apparel are required.
