SUMMARY
Perform loan set-up, and follow-up (servicing) responsibilities associated with the documentation and posting necessary in granting credit to the Bank's borrowers by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (however, other duties & responsibilities may be assigned at any time):
Follow Bank policies and procedures at all times.
Maintain confidentiality of customer information at all times.
Provide the highest level of customer service and accuracy at all times.
Exercise good judgment, discretion and initiative in dealing with customers and their transactions, inquiries and problem situations.
Perform follow-up procedures for insurance requests to ensure receipt by insurer and place policy certificates in borrower files. Ascertain level of insurance is appropriate and the Bank is listed as lien holder.
Follow-up for replacement of canceled policies. Assist in preparing/handling death disability claims for customers. Assist in preparing monthly reports for carriers of adds/drops/renewals.
Board new loans on system.
Prepare Deed of Trust / Deed of Releases, UCC and Notices of Liens, UCC Cancellations, lien release, etc. and forward for approval.
Sort files and file in vault.
Talk with all Branches: ie., Information needed on Loan side. That includes payments posted incorrect, payoffs, etc.
Post advances on Line of Credit and Construction Loans.
Go through late notices, verifying that a payment has not posted incorrectly. Reverse and repost if it has, follow up to verify payment due date has advanced as appropriate.
Post payments.
Maintain loan files and mail out any refunds.
Balance the loan application to the general ledger daily.
Answer any customer and/or branch questions.
Print statements for all paid off loans.
Complete any payoff requests.
Balance loans in progress to the general ledger daily.
Post special payments such as bi-weekly or weekly.
Make tickets for payoffs, etc.
Delete or update ticklers for insurance.
File insurance sheets in loan files.
Give flood insurance to Compliance Officer for verification – update flood ticklers.
Track documentation and policy exceptions.
Maintain and update loan records.
Verify loan application maintenance for accuracy.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain educational and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences and workshops.
Take the lead in development of manuals and supporting documentation to accomplish task/duties inherent in this position.
Confidentiality is required in all phases of employment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus additional bank related training; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have the ability to operate the following equipment: telephone, 10-key calculator, typewriter, personal computer and printer, copy machine, shredder, step stool or ladder, multi-drawer file cabinet, fax machine.
Must have working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software programs.
KEY CONTACTS--Internal and External
Has frequent contact with loan officers to verify information necessary to process loan and payments.
Has regular contact with customers, their personal representatives, accountants, real estate agents, insurance reps, title company reps, credit life/disability insurance company claims reps, attorneys, student loan reps, etc., in responding to inquiries as part of the loan processing function.
Has frequent contact with Bookkeeping area to assist with completion of credit verifications and computer system payment posting and problems.
Has regular contact with other financial institutions in responding to credit information on customers (e.g., credit status, pay-offs).
Has moderate contact with Credit Bureaus, title companies, Recorders, on borrower credit related reporting issues and pay-offs.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver’s license
Ability to be bonded by Bank’s surety company.

COMMENTS
