Neosho, MO - Neosho School District will host a Naming Ceremony for its performing arts center on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
The performing arts center is one of the projects made possible by The Next Step Ballot Measure that was passed on June 7, 2020. This project is one of many within the scope of the measure, preceded by the installment of metal storm shelters located at Central Elementary and Field Early Childhood, a brick and mortar storm shelter completed at Neosho Middle School, the La-Z-Boy End Zone Facility, and a FEMA storm shelter in progress at Benton Elementary School.
The Performing Arts Center will be 42,000 sq.ft. and will house a 1,500 seat auditorium, dressing rooms, music classrooms, and an updated lobby space with resources to host multiple events simultaneously. The project is expected to cost $20 million with a completion date of Spring 2023.
The facility will be named after legacy donor, Freeman Health System, who pledged a monetary contribution of $1 million to go toward the project. In addition to the naming sponsor, we will be recognizing the Atrium naming donor, Community Bank & Trust, and the Orchestra Pit naming donor, the Slinkard Family. Though the project is made possible by the community’s passing of The Next Step Ballot, these partnerships will afford additions to the project, such as a fly loft, that would have otherwise not been possible. We are grateful for these community partners who are helping us create spaces of pride and opportunity for our students and community.
The program will start at 10:00 a.m. and attendees are welcome to tour the jobsite following the presentation. The Neosho High School Atrium is located at the north end of the building at 511 S. Neosho Blvd., Neosho, MO 64850.
