Who: We are volunteers, mostly former counselors and campers, and we profitably ran this camp on behalf of the Girl Scouts from 2013-2018. Our group successfully fundraised, improved property condition, and ran summer camp operations. With Girl Scouts permanently closing and selling the camp in February 2019 so they could focus on properties closer to larger population centers, we organized a nonprofit organization to reclaim Mintahama and reopen to a larger community base.

Why: Our 501(c)(3) nonprofit is called Mintahama Inc. and we exist to preserve the Mintahama property for building connections to nature, leadership development, service values and practical skills in our community. This is our chance to make this legacy summer camp public for the first time in its history. We will continue camp programs and expand to offer hosting community events, booking retreats, and continuing education programs for all ages and groups year round. The capital campaign continues until $1.25m purchase is fully funded. $300,000 down.
