  • How the Chamber Helps Promote Your Events

One of the many benefits of Chamber membership is the opportunity to promote your events and business through our calendar, newsletters, social media channels, Facebook Stories, press releases, member networking groups, e-blast opportunities, and more.
As our membership continues to grow, we've received more questions about how events are promoted and the best way to gain visibility for registrations, ticket sales, sponsorships, and RSVPs. With more than 500 member businesses, organizations, and nonprofits, it's important that we follow a consistent process that is fair to everyone while keeping our communication channels valuable to the community.
Our goal isn't just to promote events—it's to promote all 500+ members fairly.
Below is a breakdown of the ways the Chamber helps promote member events and how you can take advantage of each opportunity.

Getting Your Event on the Chamber Calendar
If you'd like your event added to the Chamber calendar, there are two easy ways to submit it:

When submitting an event, all we need is:
    • A flyer or graphic
    • A short description of the event
Once we have that information, we'll get it added to the calendar and begin promoting it through our normal channels.

Need Help Using the Member Portal?
The Member Portal is one of the easiest ways to submit events, press releases, job postings, and other information directly to the Chamber.
If you've never used the Member Portal before or would like a refresher, we've created a quick tutorial video that walks you through the process step-by-step.
    Watch the tutorial here:

The Member Portal is available 24/7 and is often the fastest way to ensure your event or information gets submitted to our team for review.
Of course, if you'd rather send your information directly, you're always welcome to email Savannah@neoshocc.com and we'll be happy to assist.

    How We Promote Events
Our social media and newsletter schedules are designed to keep information organized, consistent, and manageable while ensuring all members receive fair exposure.
Our current social media schedule includes:
    • Daily Business Shoutouts at 10:00 a.m.
    • New Member Spotlights
    • Ribbon Cutting videos and follow-up posts
    • Chamber event promotions
    • Community event reminders
    • Community highlights and other Chamber content
Because of the volume of content we share each week, community events are typically featured on social media the day before they occur as a reminder post letting the community know what is happening the following day.

Don't Forget About Our Facebook Stories!
One promotional tool that often goes unnoticed is our Facebook Story.
While Facebook doesn't always notify the original poster when a story is shared, our team is constantly sharing member content to our Chamber Facebook Story whenever we see it.
Grand openings, special events, sales, promotions, community involvement, behind-the-scenes content, new products, staff highlights, and business updates are all things we love to share with our audience.
Because stories are quick and easy for followers to view, they provide another great opportunity to get your business and events in front of the community.
The more you post on your business page, the more opportunities we have to share your content with our audience. While we can't guarantee every post will be shared, we do our best to regularly highlight the amazing things our members are doing throughout the community.
So if you've ever wondered whether we're seeing your posts, chances are we are—and there's a good chance we've shared them to our story, even if Facebook didn't send you a notification!

    Connect With Other Chamber Members
Looking to spread the word about your event even further? Don't forget about the Neosho Area Chamber Members Facebook Group!
This private group is exclusively for employees of Chamber member businesses and organizations. It's a great place to share upcoming events, promotions, specials, community involvement opportunities, business updates, and connect directly with fellow Chamber members.
You can join the group here:
    https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1Ej3XM3pj4/

Between the Chamber calendar, newsletters, Facebook Stories, press releases, e-blasts, and the Chamber Member Facebook Group, there are many opportunities available to help get your message in front of the community and fellow members.

    Newsletter Promotion Schedule
To help keep our newsletters organized and ensure all member events receive fair exposure, we follow a consistent promotion schedule whenever possible.
Events are typically featured in our newsletter according to the following timeline:
    Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
Included in the "Next Week's Events" section
    Monday at 8:45 a.m.
Included in the "What's Happening This Week" section
    Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
Included again in the "This Weekend" section
    Example
If your event is scheduled for a Friday, it would ideally appear:
    • The Thursday before the event (one week out) in the "Next Week's Events" section
    • The Monday of event week in the "What's Happening This Week" section
    • The Thursday immediately before the event in the "This Weekend" section
This gives your event three opportunities to be seen by our newsletter audience before it takes place.
However, this schedule depends on receiving event information in a timely manner. If an event is submitted after a newsletter deadline or we discover it shortly before it occurs, it may only appear in one or two newsletters rather than all three.
The earlier you submit your event, the more opportunities we have to help promote it.

Need Registrations, Signups, Sponsorships, or RSVPs?
If your goal is to actively drive registrations, ticket sales, sponsorships, signups, or RSVPs, we strongly encourage submitting a press release.
Press releases can be submitted: Once approved, press releases are typically published shortly after approval and provide a much better avenue for promoting registration-based events.
We understand the importance of filling seats, selling tickets, securing sponsorships, and encouraging attendance. However, with more than 500 Chamber members, we have to maintain a consistent process for everyone.
Imagine if every member business requested a dedicated newsletter feature or social media post asking for registrations, RSVPs, sponsorships, ticket sales, or event signups. Our newsletters would quickly become page after page of advertisements and sales pitches. The community would have a difficult time finding the information they're looking for, and eventually people would stop opening and reading them altogether.
The goal of our newsletters and social media channels is to provide a balanced mix of community events, member highlights, Chamber news, ribbon cuttings, business spotlights, and upcoming activities. This helps keep our audience engaged while still giving member events meaningful exposure.
For events that require registrations, sponsorships, ticket sales, or RSVPs, press releases are often the most effective solution. They allow us to share detailed information about your event without overwhelming our regular communication channels.
To be fair to all members, we follow the same process for everyone.

    Looking for Additional Promotion?
If you have a major event coming up and need to reach people further in advance, we offer dedicated E-Blasts.
    E-Blasts
    • $75 each
    • Limited to one E-Blast per business per month
    • Sent directly to our Chamber email audience
E-Blasts are a great option for:
    • Galas
    • Banquets
    • Golf tournaments
    • Fundraisers
    • Ticketed events
    • Registration-based events
    • Major business announcements
This option allows your event to receive focused attention without disrupting the Chamber's regular communication schedule.

    Help Us Help You
The best way to maximize your event's exposure is to submit it early.
The earlier we receive your event information, the more opportunities we have to include it in newsletters, add it to the calendar, share it with the community, and ensure it reaches our audience.
As always, if you have questions about promoting your event, please reach out. We're happy to help and want to make sure you're getting the most value possible from your Chamber membership.
To submit an event or press release, email Savannah@neoshocc.com or utilize the Member Portal. We appreciate your partnership and look forward to helping make your next event a success!
