environment for children ages 3-5 years of age.
The Teacher plans, organizes, and implements the operational and physical aspects of a
Head Start classroom, including setting up the classroom and developing lesson plans to
implement the educational program. The Head Start Teacher works with children ages three
to five years of age, parents, and staff to ensure that education and early childhood
development activities are conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local laws as well
as program and agency requirements.
Requirements
Teacher must have at least one of the following: (a) An Associate or baccalaureate or
advanced degree in early childhood education; (b) An Associate degree in a field related to
early childhood education and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood
education, with experience teaching pre-school age children; (c) A Baccalaureate or advanced
degree in any field and six early childhood classes, with experience teaching pre-school age
children; or (d) A Baccalaureate degree in any field and has been admitted into the Teach For
America program. This position is subject to random drug screening and background checks.
