Patrol Sergeant
DEFINITIONThe class title of Police Sergeant within the Police Department is assigned to the patrol division. The class title of Sergeant is broken down into four ranks: Probationary Sergeant, Sergeant I, Sergeant II, and Sergeant III. Sergeant III rank performs a higher and more complex level of duties. DEFINITION Performs general public duties, processes, or operations as well as specialized police assignments for the protection of life and property through the enforcement of federal and state laws, municipal ordinances, and adheres to the police department’s policy and procedures manual.SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISEDReceives supervision from the Police Chief and direct supervision from the Sergeant.
