    The Neosho School District is seeking an Administrative Assistant for Finance and Student Services provides high-level administrative, clerical, and operational support to both the Finance Department and Student Services. This position assists with financial processes, data management, compliance tasks, communications and daily office operations that support district-wide services, staff, students and families. This position also provides administrative support for Student Services programs, including gifted education, attendance interventions, and coordination of services for homeless and foster care students in compliance with McKinney-Vento and state regulations.The role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, professionalism and the ability to multitask.  (12 month position)

     Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

      • Process and enter deposits, journal entries and account transactions in the district’s financial software.
      • Assist with budget tracking, account monitoring and periodic budget reviews. 
      • Support preparation of annual budget documents and other financial reports.
      • Manage student activity accounts, including reconciliation and maintaining accurate records.
      • Assist with purchase orders, purchasing card administration, spending limits and vendor communication. 
      • Maintain financial files for General Fund, Capital Projects, Debt Service, Federal Programs and Student Services funds.
      • Provide documentation and support during audits; assist with gathering and implementing auditor recommendations. 
      • Assist with monthly bank statement reconciliation and collaborate with payroll and accounts payable to resolve discrepancies. 
      • Assist with data entry and submissions for state and federal compliance systems (e.g. EPEGS, DESE)
      • Assist with monitoring, documenting and reporting the district’s local tax effort.
      • Track and maintain gifted student records and eligibility documentation and facilitate communication between school staff and parents regarding evaluations, placement and program updates
      • Track student attendance data, identify students needing district-level intervention, and coordinate attendance hearings involving relevant staff, families, and district leadership.
      • Serve as the district contact for McKinney-Vento and foster care inquiries, communicate with families, schools, and community agencies to ensure compliance and support, and maintain required records and reporting.
      • Assumes other duties as necessary to meet the goals and needs of the department and district. 

    Qualifications

    Education - High School Graduate; Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeping Experience Preferred; K-12 Experience Preferred
