For several years now, the Neosho Area Chamber has been dedicated to addressing regional impacts. This recent development has elevated into a highly significant and pertinent matter, not only for McDonald County but for the entire surrounding region. The workforce of Tyson makes up nearly a quarter of the total employment in McDonald County. These individuals are not just employees, but members of the community who contribute by supporting local businesses, purchasing essentials like fuel and groceries, and sending their children to schools within the region. The repercussions of such a substantial closure will be felt widely, and we stand ready to extend our support in any way possible.WeI recently spoke with John Newby of the McDonald County Chamber, who conveyed their "rapid response" mode to the situation. Informative Lunch & Learns have been scheduled to enlighten the community about the economic ramifications. Additionally, discussions are underway with State Officials to address the situation comprehensively.
