    Mitchell’s Drug Stores is seeking a motivated, professional individual to fill the role of pharmacy technician. The applicant would preferably have prior experience, be certified, and have experience with long term care pharmacy. A mature, professional individual is required to assume this position in the pharmacy while working under the direction of the pharmacist-in-charge. More details are as follows:

    General Definition The purpose of the pharmacy technician is to assist the pharmacist-in-charge and staff pharmacists with the day-to-day activities in the pharmacy, while maintaining good relationships with patients, co-workers, physicians, and facilities.

    General Technician Responsibilities

    · Help patients who are dropping off or picking up prescription orders
    · Enter prescription orders into the computer
    · Create and update patients health and insurance information in the computer
    · Assist the pharmacist with filling and labeling prescriptions
    · Assisting with inventory and putting away orders
    · Answer the telephone and maintain flow of communication with LTC facilities, patients, and doctors
    · Assist other pharmacy technicians
    · Housekeeping and Material Handling

    Specific Long Term Care Responsibilities

    · Staging LTC deliveries
    · Packages medications into unit dose packaging
    · Ordering supplies for LTC facilities

    Desired Qualifications

    · Certified Pharmacy Technician, CPhT credential
    · Missouri Board of Pharmacy technician license
    · High School Diploma
    · Professional demeanor
    · High level organizational skills
    · Detail oriented
    · Courteous attitude
    · Strong communication skills
    · Understanding of medical terminology and calculations
    · Ability to adhere to all safety standards and wear and utilize all personal protective equipment
    · Ability to adhere to all quality procedures and standards
