    Mitchell’s Drug Stores is seeking a motivated, professional individual to fill the role of pharmacy technician. The applicant would preferably have prior experience, be certified, and have experience with long term care pharmacy. A mature, professional individual is required to assume this position in the pharmacy while working under the direction of the pharmacist-in-charge. More details are as follows:
     
    General Definition
    The purpose of the pharmacy technician is to assist the pharmacist-in-charge and staff pharmacists with the day-to-day activities in the pharmacy, while maintaining good relationships with patients, co-workers, physicians, and facilities.
     
    General Technician Responsibilities
    Help patients who are dropping off or picking up prescription orders
    Enter prescription orders into the computer
    Create and update patients health and insurance information in the computer
    Assist the pharmacist with filling and labeling prescriptions
    Assisting with inventory and putting away orders
    Answer the telephone and maintain flow of communication with LTC facilities, patients, and doctors
    Assist other pharmacy technicians
    Housekeeping and Material Handling
     
    Specific Long Term Care Responsibilities
    Staging LTC deliveries
    Packages medications into unit dose packaging
    Ordering supplies for LTC facilities
     
    Desired Qualifications
    Certified Pharmacy Technician, CPhT credential
    Missouri Board of Pharmacy technician license
    High School Diploma
    Professional demeanor
    High level organizational skills
    Detail oriented
    Courteous attitude
    Strong communication skills
    Understanding of medical terminology and calculations
    Ability to adhere to all safety standards and wear and utilize all personal protective equipment
    Ability to adhere to all quality procedures and standards
