    The Neosho School District is searching for an NEWcaps Healthcare Instructor/NSD Lead Nurse for the 2021/2022 school year.  Interested applicants should possess a current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) Missouri License, current certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and three years of health care experience.  

    This position will collaborate with healthcare business professionals and directors to build a professional project based learning environment for students.  

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    NEWcaps

    • Support and coordinate activities that guide students through career exploration
    • Develop community and industry partnerships for students
    • Provide curriculum guidance and Canvas platform in partnership with a NHS certified instructor 
    • Work with NHS certified instructors on assessment tools and grading requirements for high school credit
    • Collaborate with NEWcaps Director, other NEWcaps instructors and Crowder College on all school and business related tasks
    • Monitor progress in dual enrolled classes NEWcaps students are enrolled in at Crowder College
    • Ensure projects align with NEWcaps learning model and our business partners goals
    • Assess outcomes of projects and business / student relationships
    • Facilitate and generate activities that are professional projects based in the field of healthcare
    • Be available to the students for reflection points throughout 
    • Help guide students in projects or experiences
    • Serve as liaison between student and business during a project

    Lead Nurse

    • Communicate effectively with all the members of the school district and community
    • Provide excellence in customer service both internally and externally
    • React to change productively
    • Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas and techniques
    • Work closely with district administrators and health services personnel in the development and/or improvement of health-related policies and procedures
    • Communicate with state, regional and local health professionals concerning school health issues and utilize the information to improve the health services program
    • Promote professional development among school health services personnel
    • Implement a comprehensive annual evaluation of the program in order to make continued improvements
    • Keep abreast of current school health trends, developments, research, and legislation/regulations
    • Serve as liaison between the Health Services Department and Freeman, including Telemedicine
    • Provide feedback and coaching regarding performance issues for the nursing staff
