School may be out for the summer, but the Crowder College Theatre Department is staying busy and cool inside the Elsie Plaster Auditorium, preparing for an upcoming production, “The BFG” (Big Friendly Giant).
The performance is adapted by David Wood based on the original book by Roald Dahl. Crowder’s performance is directed by Monty Pugh-Towe and features a cast list of area students and community members.
A young girl, in desperate need of a friend, is quickly forced to befriend the BFG, who unlike most giants, is not scary or mean. The two take off on quite the journey together and build a life-long friendship.
Show times are June 13 & June 14 nightly at 7 pm. The last showing will take place on June 15 at 2 pm. All shows will be held inside the Elsie Plaster Auditorium inside the Elsie Plaster Community Center on the Crowder Neosho campus, located at 601 Laclede Ave., Neosho, MO. General admission is $5 and tickets for children 12 and under cost $3. Tickets may be purchased at each showing.
