DESCRIPTION:Northwood Event Center is excited to bring this lecture to you by James R. Harrigan on Human Flourishing.\n\nJoin James as he thinks about what it takes to create the sort of environment that allows for human beings to flourish. The presentation will take you from the US to Iraq\, to Adam Smith\, to Thomas Jefferson\, and even\, God help us all\, some data too.\n\nJames will be joining us live via video call from his office in Arizona which we will be projecting onto a large screen. Immediately following the lecture\, he will be taking questions from the audience to continue the discussion on this topic.\n\nJames R. Harrigan is Managing Director of the Center for Philosophy of Freedom at the University of Arizona\, and the F.A. Hayek Distinguished Fellow at the Foundation for Economic Education. He is also co-host of the Words & Numbers podcast. Dr. Harrigan was previously Dean of the American University of Iraq-Sulaimani\, and later served as Director of Academic Programs at the Institute for Humane Studies and Strata\, where he was also Senior Research Fellow. He has written extensively for the popular press\, with articles appearing in the Wall Street Journal\, USA Today\, U.S. News and World Report\, and a host of other outlets. He is also co-author of Cooperation & Coercion. His current work focuses on popular culture.\n\nDoors will open at 6:30pm.
