    Position Summary

    Order, receive and maintain all book inventory and specialty supplies. Will work with the faculty and Academic Affairs team as needed to get book adoptions each semester and enter information into our system and on the Internet as required by federal law. Will arrange courier deliveries to remote campus locations for online book orders. Will arrange returns of out-of-date books and setup a buyback each semester. Works closely with faculty and publisher to ensure that our faculty have the best format for their teaching materials, most current editions and are aware of the industry trends. This position could be responsible for opening and/or closing the bookstore as needed due to scheduling requirements.
     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate with faculty and the Academic Affairs team to obtain textbook adoptions each semester.
    • Accurately enter and manage adoption information in internal systems and online platforms in compliance with federal regulations.
    • Confirm that editions of books are current and that faculty have the most current books and our aware of all options for book delivery.
    • Organize and prepare bookshelves each semester with the correct adoptions, titles and supply items as needed.
    • Enter purchase orders and do receiving of books upon arrival. Setup TBSF and IA via our supplier website and enter pricing into JZ.
    • Maintain an adequate inventory of books for sales each semester.
    • Communicate with site directors at other campus locations book information for faculty and students.
    • Create rental book inventory as needed and track inventory.
    • Manage returns of outdated or obsolete textbooks.
    • Create a buyback at the close of each semester.
    • Maintain inventory of all books and help with annual store inventory.
    • Work with program areas to create forms for preordering of books, order and disburse program books.
    • Assist with counter sales when needed.
    • Assist with opening and closing bookstore operations as needed based on scheduling requirements.
     
     

    Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • High School Diploma or GED minimum, associates degree preferred
    • Outstanding customer service skills including communication both written and oral, good phone skills
    • 1-year work related experience
    • Microsoft excel experience as well as word, forms and outlook
    • Internet skills
    • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, stand or sit for prolonged periods of time, position has a high level of physical activity at times and other times high levels of computer use with extended periods of time sitting with screen usage

    Working Environment

     

    • Generally, indoors, possible travel to other locations or meetings.
    • Working hours are generally Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., adjustment of hours may occasionally may be required for rush, buyback, or other special events.
    • A neat appearance is required and appropriate apparel must be worn.
