We are pleased to announce that the artist and musician lineup is nearly complete for the First Annual Joplin Festival of the Arts on Saturday, September 19, 2015, brought to you by the Joplin Kiwanis Club, Joplin Regional Artists Coalition, Connect2Culture, and the George A. Spiva Center for the Arts.
This is a charitable event, with all proceeds going toward the Joplin Kiwanis Club’s children’s fund, which is awarded to local children’s organizations like the Cerebral Palsy Center, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and others they have supported over the years.
The event will be free and open to the public on the 400 and 500 blocks of Historic Downtown Joplin Missouri, from 10am to 6pm. With over 50 fine artists from 20 different cities, several galleries, dozens of musicians, dancers, and local arts organizations participating, it is sure to be the best collection of talent and creativity that Main Street has ever seen.
Daytime activities will be family-focused with children’s art opportunities being provided by Spiva Center for the Arts, Wildcat Glades Audubon Center, and Art Feeds. In addition, a Community Art Project for all ages will be led by Connect2Culture.
Kiwanis International will have a beer and wine garden, sponsored by Missouri Eagle, for those wishing to relax before and between browsing. For those who love music and dance, the performing arts stage will feature a variety of styles of music and dance throughout the festival.
Music on the stage and the beer/wine garden will remain open and lively until 10pm.
