Business & Industry Review

The 21st Annual Business & Industry Review will be March 15th & 16th at the Neosho High School Cafeteria.  Show hours are Friday – 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. (Chamber Members Networking); 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. (open to the public) and Saturday – 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  The theme is “21 and Always a Winner”Please place this event on your marquee!  Chamber Members are invited to come on Friday night  (free admission)!  Admission for the public is $2.00 – pick up $1.00 off tickets at businesses that are exhibiting.  Make plans to attend!

 Quarterly Luncheon

March’s Quarterly Luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, March 21st at noon at The Civic.  Our program will be “Newton County Work Ready Community Initiative”.  Come learn more about this initiative, how it will impact employers and the workforce, education and community and economic development benefits!  Cost is $10.00 per person.  RSVP to the Chamber Office by Tuesday, March 19th!

 Teen Challenge of the Four States – 4th Annual Business & Professional Person’s Breakfast

Teen Challenge of the Four States invites all chamber members to their 4th Annual Business & Professional Person’s Breakfast on Tuesday, March 5th at 7:30 a.m. at their campus at 18527 E.  City-County Map

Encore Publishing will publish our 2013 City-County Map.  This is the only map we distribute at our office, plus we send out to business prospects and also include it in our relocation packets.  If you are interested in advertising, please contact DeDe at 850-4670 or Tammie at 629-7935.

Methodist Men’s Potato Soup Benefit

Neosho United Methodist Men will host their annual potato soup fundraiser on Friday, March 15th in their church basement at 224 S. Wood.  Lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and dinner from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.  The meal includes their famous potato soup, a dessert and drink.  Adults are $4.00 each and children are $2.00 each with take- outs and deliveries are available.  For more information, contact the church office at 451-2310.  Proceeds from this fundraiser help fund their ministries in the church and the community.  They greatly appreciate your support!

 American Legion Auxiliary – Women Veterans Tea

 “Eggs & Issues” Legislative Brunch

The Joplin Chamber will host an “Eggs & Issues” Legislative Brunch on Friday, March 22nd at 10:15 a.m. at the Continental Banquet & Catering Services at 2728 N. Range Line Rd. – Joplin. 

 Neosho Sprint Triathlon

Neosho Sprint Triathlon to benefit Faithful Friends Animal Advocates, sponsored by Freeman Health System and Prime Care Family Medicine, Dr. Craig Pendergrass will be held on Saturday, March 30th at 8:00 a.m.  Swim 300 yards, Bike 13.5 miles, Run 3.1 miles.  For registration, go to https://www.earlysignup.com/neosho.  If you would like to volunteer, sponsor or have additional questions, please email ffaarace@cableone.net.

 Art in the Park

The George Washington Carver National Monument will host Art in the Park on Saturday, April 27th from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Artists will conduct art workshops throughout the day.  A “budding artists” area will feature natural dyes, painting color swatches and other children’s art activities.  At 11:00 a.m. guest artist Lowell Davis from Carthage will provide a special presentation.  Plan to attend this fun-filled day and be inspired by the beauty of nature captured in the artwork.

 Safe Kids Day

The Newton County Health Department & the Alliance of Southwest Missouri will hold the annual “Safe Kids Day” event on Friday, May 3rd from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on the Health Department parking lot at 812 W. Harmony.  Parents will be able to get their children’s fingerprints & a photo id.  There will be safety demonstrations, kid’s games, activities and lots of prizes & freebies.  A $1.00 donation is requested for the photo id but there is no charge for most of the activities.  Any business or organization that would like to participate may call the Newton County Health Department at 451-3743.
